Depew Rallies Around Good Neighbors After Boys and Girls Club Fire

Depew, NY - On New Year's Day, fire devastated the Depew Boys and Girls Club.  2 On Your Side received several emails about the good neighbors who are making a difference in the lives of the community's children.

Katrina wrote about about Jeff Kupka, Lisa Konst and Dave Lewandowski. "They don't get recognized for the good deeds they do on a daily basis and at this time need that support to give them strength.  They all go above and beyond their job description.  Each one takes on extra tasks and do it for no payment other than satisfaction and seeing the smile on the children's faces that they help."

Kate wrote, "These kids never go without - without food, without a good time, and most importantly without a place where they feel loved and accepted."

For countless children, that support helped turn their lives around.  2 On Your Side's Theresa DeLuca went back to the fire site with David Zogaria who is now an Army Veteran and Penn State Graduate in Criminal Justice to talk about how the site and staff made a difference in his life.

The Depew Boys and Girls Club has a new temporary home at the old Terrace School Building.
It will be open for the club's normal business hours.

It's expected to take at least two months for damage assessments to be completed so clean-up can move forward.  Help will be needed then.  In the meantime, you can make a financial donation at any local Key Bank.
