Fire at Boys and Girls Club in Depew

DEPEW, NY- Volunteer firefighters spent part of their New Year's holiday fighting a fire at a local Boys and Girls Club.

Several witnesses reported smoke showing from the building on Preston Street in Depew shortly before 10 a.m.  Fortunately, no one was in the building at the time. The damage is reported to be extensive.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury.

Fire investigators say the fire started on the first floor and spread to the attic.  The exact cause still has not been determined, but they are looking into the possibility it was electrical.
