A group of Depew and Lancaster residents hopes the area’s first Vets H.E.R.D. Motorcycle Poker Run will raise awareness about the lack of veterans’ services in the community.
Rider registration will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Quaker Steak and Lube, 6727 Transit Road, Lancaster, with a motorcycle blessing at 11:45 a.m. The cost will be $20 per driver and $5 per passenger. Pre-registration may be completed at www.VetsHERD.com.
Participants will ride from noon to 4 p.m., with three stops before ending back at Quaker Steak and Lube. A concert featuring Widow Maker will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., and various vendors will be on site throughout the event.
The mission of Helping Empower Returning and Disabled Veterans (H.E.R.D.) is to ensure that no veteran or service member is forgotten upon returning from duty while rallying for the resources that our country’s heroes deserve.
