Driver Pleads Guilty in Lancaster DWI Hit-and-Run Case
News

BUFFALO, NY - Twenty four-year-old Michael Ettipio plead guilty to Vehicular Manslaughter Thursday in connection to a fatal accident that killed a 14-year-old boy.

The District Attorney's office says this is the highest charge Ettipio could have been convicted of if the case had gone to trial.

Back on May 3, Ettipio was driving on Lake Avenue in the town of Lancaster when he struck and killed 14-year-old Bryce Buchholz.  He fled the scene, but a witness followed him and brought him back to the crime scene to surrender to Lancaster Police.  Ettipio had a blood alcohol content of .24%, 3 times the legal limit.

Ettipio faces a maximum prison sentence of 5 to 15 years when sentenced on September 13.
