Fair Thoughts from The Fair Blogger | Events

Well my dear fair friends,  we are exactly one week away from that event that we have been blogging about for the last couple of weeks.  Yes, that is, only “single digits”  til our most favorite time of summer, and for me, the most favorite time of the whole year!!! 

I am taking in my fair entries today and hopefully will be able to share some new pics with you this week.  I am hoping that I can give you at least a “sneak peek” of what is going on on the fairgrounds as they prepare for opening day!!!

I have some entries for the creative arts department as well as some flowers.  The flowers do not go in until next Monday.  It’s fun participating in the categories that you are really interested in.  Maybe I can win a ribbon or two!!! But, the best perk of entering for the real fairgoer is getting the 5 admission passes included in the $20 entry fee.  Such a deal!!!

One of my favorite categories, that is somewhat new, is the digital shootout.  This year it is actually being held in the evening.  Those should be some great photos.  You are given a category to take pics of and then you submit the one that you think is best.  I look forward to the night pics this year.  Hopefully I will be able to share some of those with you during fair week. 

I am getting ready too for all that “fair food”.  For me, that is really one of the big attractions!  Who doesn’t like the Chiavetta chicken???? Or Jim’s Fries??? Or the Angelo’s canolli????  Or the Pina Colada Smoothie????  Got your tastebuds going yet????  Ha….I am ready right now for any one of those things!!!  I look forward to sharing with you a “Fair Food of the Day” all during the fair, so stay tuned to my blog!!!

Looking forward to exploring all the buildings again, as always!  The Event Center offers a ton of things to buy, and let’s say, that me finding something to buy is never a problem.  Jewelry always works for me and my biggest problem is limiting just how much I can buy!!!  But like I say, “Who cares!!!  It’s the Fair!!!” 

The Fireman’s Building has had a makeover and looks just great from outside.  I am sure you will want to check that out!

I am sure that my friends at the Lottery Building are planning some great things too.  Meet Yolanda and the other draw team folks…..buy some tickets…..win some $$$$$$$$$......and maybe pick up a prize or two that they are giving away!!!  There is always something great going on in that Lottery Building….and HEY YOU NEVER KNOW!!!

And the final thing that I want to share with you, is that, the thing that I really look forward to…..is spending time with my “Fair Friends”.  We meet there every year and over the years our group has really expanded!   Some of them I only see that one time of year….fair time…..and others, we get together during the year.  But you can be sure, whether once or more times, when we get together, we love sharing our fair stories and fair memories!  There is no time like the fair for this bunch of pals!!!

So get your walking shoes ready and plan your visit to the fair.  Take the time to have some fun there.  Take in the buildings, have some good fair food, and have one heck of a good time!!!
