Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs announced that his office, in cooperation with Erie County Legislator Joseph Lorigo and Elma Town Supervisor Dennis Powers, is holding a special “Passports on the Move” outreach on Thursday, March 13th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Elma Town Hall, 1600 Bowen Road, Elma.

This community event is designed to assist the public apply for a passport card, passport book or both. Applicants can expect to receive their passport in approximately four to six weeks for routine service. For an additional fee, the County Clerk’s Office offers an expedited service which reduces the processing time to 3 days.

“I am pleased to bring our “Passports on the Move” outreach to the residents of Elma and thank Legislator Lorigo and Supervisor Powers for hosting this event,” said Jacobs. “It shows that county and town governments can work together to better serve and meet the needs of our constituents.”

Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Erie County Clerk’s Office at 716-858-8866. Applicants will need to bring with them an original or certified copy of their birth certificate, proof of identity such as a current New York State driver’s license or non-driver I.D., and one 2x2 photo. The Clerk’s Office can also take a passport photo on-site for a $10 fee. Payment must be in the form of check or money order; no cash or credit cards will be accepted.

“I encourage anyone planning their next vacation or college students planning a semester abroad to make an appointment for our upcoming ‘Passports on the Move’ outreach event in Elma,” said Jacobs.
