Nativity of Mary School Hosts Free Electronics Recycling Day

Nativity of Mary School is partnering with Sunnking to host a free Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, May 12th from 9:00am-2:00pm.

So start your spring cleaning and drop of your old electronics and other items for recycling!

Some of the common items that Sunnking can recycle include: computers (desktops & laptops), printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, TV's, cell phones, IT & networking equipment, medical & lab equipment, communications equipment, phones, servers, monitors (CRT/LCD/LED), MP3 players, PDA's, tablets, ink and toner cartridges, and pretty much anything else with a circuit board or cord!

In addition to the electronics recycling practices, Sunnking also specializes in secure data destruction through the use of our state of the art hard drive shredding process, as well as complete asset management.

Nativity of Mary School is located at 8550 Main Street in Williamsville (at the corner of Main Street & Harris Hill Road).

2012 Erie County Envirothon Winners

Buffalo Homeschooler’s team wins the 2012 Erie County Envirothon! Buffalo Homeschoolers team of talented students will proceed to the New York State Envirothon where they will compete against winning Envirothon teams from counties throughout New York State.

The 2012 Erie County Envirothon was held on May 3rd at Elma Senior Center/Village Green Park. Participating high schools included St. Mary’s School for the Deaf, Grand Island, Orchard Park, East Aurora, Springville-Griffith, and Buffalo Homeschoolers.

Planet Flop Fights Poverty with Soles

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of poverty and collects used shoes to support micro-enterprise efforts to eradicate poverty. Sole4souls looks for companies in the apparel and footwear industry to partner with to battle for the lives of people in natural diasters and to combat poverty.

Soles4souls is partnering with Planet Flops who make flip flops made of natural rubber and from every one flipflop purchased one goes to provide footwear to an impoverish adult and/or child in developing nations. It’s called the “Buy one, Give One” campaign. Planet Flop also has the Buy one Plant program that plants a tree in the Brazilian rainforest for every pair of its flip flop sold on its website. Soles4Souls’ other two divisions, Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls.

First Robin of Spring?

Could this be the first robin of spring in Western New York? This bird was spotted in Killbuck, NY (outside Salamanca) by 2 On Your Side Facebook friend Eva Brooks on Wednesday morning.
