Legislator Rath: Guided Walk Through Akron Falls Park on Saturday | Community Spirit
Erie County Legislator Edward Rath announces that a free guided walk through beautiful Akron Falls Park will be held on Saturday, June 9. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The park is located at 44 Parkview Drive and signs will be placed at the entrance, directing attendees to the starting point of the walk.
“This is a great opportunity to tour Akron Falls Park, which features a waterfall, rock garden and interesting plant and animal life. The guided walks series promotes healthy lifestyles and includes health screenings and educational information to encourage healthy choices," said Legislator Rath. "If you have never visit Akron Falls Park, this is the perfect time to see its natural beauty firsthand."
Additional walks will be held on Saturday, June 16 at Emery Park; Saturday, June 23 at the Times Beach Nature Preserve; and on Saturday, June 30 at Sprague Brook Park.
Health screenings offered at the event include blood pressure and BMI readings. Assorted health education materials and smoking cessations services, products and program enrollment are available.
