Enjoy the Journey Art Gallery Announces Holiday Events, Beatles Exhibit and More

It’s always an enjoyable experience to visit Enjoy the Journey Art Gallery, but the holiday season is extra special. The gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca, has plenty of exciting activities planned for the holiday season and beyond!

For starters, the gallery will feature two exhibits this month. The first is “Time Will Tell,” a member’s exhibit featuring the work of more than 50 artists representing photography, watercolor, oils, acrylics, collage, mixed media, fiber art, clay art and more. The opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and the evening is free and open to the public.

The opening reception for “Reflective Life” with photographer Danielle Heyden will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Heyden is currently working toward a BFA degree in Fine Art Photography at the University at Buffalo. This opening reception is also free and open to the public.

The gallery’s annual Jingle Mingle takes place on Saturday, Dec. 5. Stop in and listen to the smooth sounds of jazz singer Mari McNeil as she sings some holiday classics from 1 to 3 p.m. Guests can take a chance in the gallery’s art auction, purchase one-of-a-kind holiday gifts and meet several of the gallery’s friendly artists and instructors. “Funky Candyland” ornaments by artist and gallery owner Paulette Krakowski can be purchased for just $5, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the West Seneca Food Pantry.

Wine, Women & Art with artist Andrea Oswald is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10. Just in time for the holidays, guests will create two beautiful wine glasses in the design of holly and berries. The cost is $30 per person and includes all art supplies plus the evening’s wine and tasty goodies.

Gerald Mead, a noted artist, independent curator and art collector, will discuss strategies for getting broader exposure for you and your artwork through exhibition opportunities, networking and promotion during Career Development for Artists from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20. The cost is $20. Please be sure to bring a notebook to take notes on all of the wonderful information you will learn.

Zentangle 101 returns from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21. The Zentangle Method is a fun, relaxing and easy-to-learn way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Come join Kelly Barone at a three-hour workshop where she will teach you the basics of the Zentangle Method. This introductory class is the gateway and a prerequisite to many advanced classes and workshops. A mini-kit is included in your class fee so you can tangle at home. In Zentangle 101, you will learn three-plus tangles and complete two Zentangle tiles while learning beginner shading techniques. The fee for this class is $35.

Are you a fan of The Beatles? Enjoy the Journey is putting out a call for artists who would like to exhibit artwork depicting their favorite Beatles song. The artwork does not have to include a picture of the Beatles; it can have the feeling that song gives you, or perhaps it reminds you of someone or something. The artwork may also contain words to a Beatles song. Check out the Beatles’ album covers, listen to your favorite Beatles songs and be inspired! Drop off for artwork is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, and a prospectus is available at http://etjgallery.com/calls-for-work
