West Seneca West Senior High School’s String Ensemble and Bel Canto Singers spread some holiday cheer through their gift of music.

Assemblymember Gabryszak: We Must Continue Working To Make Toys Safer For Our Children

Assemblymember Gabryszak: We Must Continue Working To Make Toys Safer For Our Children

Earlier this month, as a member of the state Assembly Consumer Affairs and Protection Committee, I attended a public hearing on the regulation of toxic chemicals in
children’s products. We must ensure that products made for our children remain safe anthat these products meet the standards we have in New York.

After the passage of the federal Consumer Safety Improvement Act of 2008, the use of lead in children’s products and jewelry was banned. While this was a major step,
manufacturers instead switched to a potentially more harmful chemical: cadmium. To prevent the use of this harmful chemical, I am sponsoring a bill that would prohibit
manufacturers from using cadmium in the production of children’s products (A.3678). We need to stop this toxic agent from being exposed to our children.

14224. It has been something we are very familiar with and all have come to love for a very long time. We live here, work here, shop here, our children get the best education here and West Seneca has been declared the best place to raise children in New York State.
